Healthy Korean BBQ

In celebration of the 2018 Winter Olympics, we cooked up some delicious and healthy Korean BBQ. Chef John Slattery showed us how to make pork with steamed vegetables, and two different salads!

Pork with steamed vegetables 

  • 1# lean pork, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 table spoon garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 4oz Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flake
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions

Directions

Combine Marinade ingredients and whisk to incorporate, use 1/2 of marinade to soak the meat. Cook in wok or over high heat until cooked about 2 to 3 minutes, when all moisture is evaporated, add reserved marinade and cook to reduce additional 3 minutes. Serve over steamed vegetables.

White Radish Salad

  • 1/2 white radish
  • 1/2 tbsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 green onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • vinegar

Korean Bean Sprout Salad

  • 8oz raw bean sprouts
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. Chile powder
  • 1.5 tbsp. garlic
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 tsp. rice vinegar
