SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield teen is facing several charges after he led police on a 25 minute chase through Springfield, West Springfield, and Holyoke Thursday night.

Driver arrested after leading police on chase into Holyoke

According to Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh, 19-year-old Ky Lindsey has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for police, receiving stolen property, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal identity, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, reckless and negligent operation of a vehicle, and leaving the scene of a property damage event.

Walsh said police first tried to stop Lindsey on Armory Street after determining the license plate was stolen. He was eventually stopped in Holyoke after the car broke down on the Main Street I-391S on-ramp.

At one point during the chase, Lindsey allegedly struck a police cruiser as he traveled the wrong-way down Route 5 in West Springfield.

Walsh said there was a passenger in the car with Lindsey, but he or she was released.
