NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – At least 500 residents were without power in Northampton Monday afternoon, according to the National Grid Outage Map.
National Grid Spokeswoman Alison Ring told 22News there were to separate outages in Northampton on Monday. Ring said the first outage happened around 10 a.m., affecting 400 customers. Power was then restored by 12:15 p.m., Ring said.
The second outage happened around 4 p.m., affecting 600 customers. Ring told 22News power would be back on by 6:45 p.m.
Ring added that the outages were caused by a branch or tree falling on low hanging power lines on Burt Pitts Road in Northampton.
She said lines were hanging above a parked car and had to be de-energized.
