Body found in car in New Haven parking lot


NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Police are investigating after a body was found in a car in a New Haven parking lot Monday morning.

Police are on the scene of 199 Park Street after a body was discovered inside a blue car that was parked in a parking lot just after 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. The parking lot is on property owned by Yale University.

There is no word on who discovered the body. Yale police are leading the investigation, with New Haven police assisting.

New Haven Police Public Information Officer David Hartman told News 8 Monday morning that the person had a needle in their arm, and that drug paraphernalia was also found in the car. Police have not released the identity or any further details on the victim. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is on the scene to determine the official cause of death.
