West Springfield stabbing suspect arrested in Connecticut

The victim is now in stable condition

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – An Enfield man was arrested Saturday night in connection to a stabbing in West Springfield early Saturday morning.

Enfield Police arrested Carl St. George in Enfield, at 8:43 PM Saturday night.

West Springfield Police Captain Paul Connor told 22News a man was found bleeding in the lobby of the Clarion Hotel at 5:30 A.M. Captain Connor said he was stabbed in one of the rooms in the hotel.

The victim was rushed to Baystate Medical Center for emergency surgery for serious knife wounds to his neck, leg, hand and head. He is recovering and in stable condition.

St. George has been charged with attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

Police say this incident was not random.

St. George will be arraigned in Enfield Tuesday morning, on a fugitive from justice charge.
