Two pedestrians hit by car in Westfield

Both victims are expected to be okay

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two pedestrians were struck by a car in Westfield Saturday night.

Westfield Police Sergeant Mike Kane told 22News that a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were crossing Elm Street around 9 p.m. Saturday night when they were hit by a car. Sgt. Kane confirmed that the two victims were using a marked crosswalk near 224 Elm Street.

The car was heading north; the driver didn’t stop after crashing into the pedestrians.

Both victims were treated at local hospitals, but are expected to be okay.

The crash is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
