Expect heavy traffic for UMass commencement exercises

Heaviest traffic will be mid-to-late afternoon

HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – About 25,000 people are expected to attend Friday evening’s undergraduate commencement exercises at UMass, and that will mean traffic on Route 9 and Route 116 headed toward McGuirk Stadium.

Other primary routes used by visitors to the campus include the Massachusetts Turnpike, Interstate 91, Route 181, and Route 21. Delays are possible on all of those roadways as well.
