Belchertown police searching for suspects in attempted break-in

Car took off westbound on Ware Road

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – Police officers in Belchertown are searching for two suspects in an attempted home break-in Friday morning.

According to the Belchertown Police Department’s Facebook page, officers were called to a home on Ware Road just before 11:00 a.m., after a resident called and said he just confronted a man who was attempting to break into his home. The suspect, described as being a black man in his mid-30s, allegedly shattered glass in an attempt to get inside.

Police say the suspect allegedly ran from the home and got into a black SUV waiting in the driveway with another black man inside.

The car’s license plate is believed to be a combination of letters and numbers “TWSA459.” The state of the license plate is unknown.

Both Belchertown and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the attempted break-in.
