Two UMass peregrine falcon eggs hatch on livestream

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – There’s reason to celebrate at the UMass Library.

Two of the eggs hatched late Wednesday afternoon which was captured on video. She originally laid four eggs this year but two were lost last weekend.

The mated pair of peregrine falcons successfully raised one chick last year. He hatched in late May and left the nest about a month later.

Peregrine falcons have nested on the roof of the Du Bois Library since 2003. The live web cam was installed in 2012.
