SKYWARN training sessions scheduled in Heath, Huntington

Trained spotters can pick up on dangerous conditions radar may miss

HEATH, Mass. (WWLP) – If you are interested in learning about severe weather, and how to help keep your neighbors safe, you are invited to attend National Weather Service SKYWARN training sessions scheduled for this week and next week.

SKYWARN training provides information on how to recognize severe weather, and notify the National Weather Service of severe conditions. SKYWARN spotters are invaluable during severe weather situations, because their observations can pick up on dangerous conditions that radar may miss. Their information is used by the NWS to issue warnings at critical moments.
