(WWLP) – All the recent rain we’ve had has paid off. Massachusetts is officially out of the drought.
Conditions across Massachusetts have finally returned to normal.
State officials said precipitation and groundwater levels have returned to normal. Due to the change, Northampton lifted the city’s water ban Thursday. Northampton was under a drought advisory, which restricted residents from using outdoor water on certain days or face a fine.
The state, however, is still advising people to conserve water.
“I try not to use like a lot of water while doing dishes, however, showers I use a lot of water, I probably should conserve that,” Anie Massey Conway, of Chicopee, said.
To help conserve water, the state is asking residents to continue reducing their indoor and outdoor water use.
