Longmeadow Town Meeting approves new DPW building

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Longmeadow residents at a Town Meeting voted in favor of building a new, multi-million dollar DPW facility on Tuesday evening.

The town wants to build the new facility at 170 Dwight Street for more than $21 million dollars.

The town says they need a new DPW facility to replace their aging facility at 31 Pondside Road.

That building is more than 80-years old, and the town manager has said it’s outdated, and too small for all of the town’s equipment.

The proposal now moves onto the town election on June 13th, where it’ll need a two-thirds majority vote to pass.
