SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The annual “Men Can Cook” event was held Tuesday night in honor of National Women Build Week.
The Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity holds this week-long event every year around Mother’s Day to honor women.
It involves women devoting at least one day of community service toward the effort of eliminating substandard housing.
“This is one of the biggest fundraisers we have for Habitat for Humanity so it’s great so we can build more houses and help more people,” Becky Mason, of West Springfield, said.
Men throughout Hampden County gathered in Springfield to celebrate women and their lives.
Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno served as the event’s honorary chair.
