Northwestern DA hosts Kentucky Derby party

Organizers hope to raise more than $3000.

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – In western Massachusetts, the Northwestern District Attorney’s had their own Kentucky Derby party.

It was called the “Race to end Child Abuse” dozens gathered to raise money for kids in need.

The Kentucky Derby style party was held at Platform Sports bar.  Guests wore their most decorated hat, for a chance to win a prize.

The executive director for the Children’s Advocacy center, Susan Loehm, told 22News, the center helps abused kids, “Last year we had over a 100 children use the services at CAC and those include mental health and medical exams. “

All proceeds from the event will go towards helping abused children with services. Organizers hope to raise more than $3000.
