DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Historic Deerfield is an outdoor museum made up of a complex of 11 houses from the 1700’s. Friday night, the museum celebrated arts and culture at its annual awards dinner.
The museum is dedicated to heritage preservation, and focuses on the history and culture of the Connecticut River Valley and early New England.
Historic Deerfield President Philip Zey told 22News the museum allows residents to connect with the Pioneer Valley’s rich history; “A place like Historic Deerfield, as it teaches about history and culture, is only putting people in touch with themselves.”
State Senate President Stan Rosenberg was honored with the President’s Award for his continued advocacy for arts and culture organizations in Massachusetts.
