SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke City Councilor David Bartley was arrested and charged with an OUI, last weekend, after a car accident that hurt two people in Springfield.

Springfield Police said Bartley had left the Mardi Gras strip club, before he reportedly crashed into the back of another car around 9:15 p.m. Saturday. That car was then pushed into a third car.

A Springfield Police report shows two people requested an ambulance. The responding officer said after the crash, he saw that Bartley was “hunched over in the vehicle with his head in his hands.” It also said Bartley had “bloodshot eyes”, “slurred speech”, and “couldn’t perform a field sobriety test.”

22News spoke with David Bartley on Wednesday night. He said it is pending litigation so he couldn’t say much, but he “Thanks those that have called him to lend support.”
