Route 187 reopened after car hit utility pole and house

It’s not clear what caused the accident

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Route 187 has reopened after a car hit a utility pole and then a house in Agawam Sunday afternoon.

A portion of the road was closed while Eversource crews worked to install a new pole, fix the downed power lines, and bring power back online.

The accident knocked out power to a few dozen residents. The accident happened at around 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Route 187 near Farmington Circle.

The car left the roadway, hit a utility police, and then hit a house. A woman was inside at the time but was not hurt.

The driver of the vehicle was not hurt either. It’s not clear what caused the accident.
