Longmeadow residents to vote on bee petitions

Residents will vote on May 9th

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Longmeadow residents are buzzing at an agenda concerning pollinating bees.

There are two petitions for residents concerning the insects. One would limit bees to only agricultural zones, while the other would designate Longmeadow as a “Pollinator-Friendly Town.”

Longmeadow resident Fran Abad told 22News, “You got to let them be. You want the area pollinated. That’s more natural.”

Residents will vote on May 9th.
