Police: Drug deal gone bad left 1 person stabbed in Holyoke

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke Police are investigating a stabbing after a drug deal gone bad in the City, early Wednesday night.

Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22News four or five suspects attacked a person on Chestnut Street, near Sargeant Street, just after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was stabbed in the back and taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment, Lt. Albert said. He is expected to survive.

Lt. Albert said that part of the City, where the stabbing took place, is known for drug and gang activity.

The description of the suspects or the name of the victim have not yet been released.
