EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – As 22News has been reporting, the weather is getting nicer and bears are starting to roam around western Massachusetts.

A viewer, Marilyn McGrath, sent us the video above through reportit@wwlp.com of a black bear cub climbing onto a back porch Saturday, on the second floor of a house. McGrath said the bear was attempting to reach the bird feeders.

In Chicopee, another viewer spotted a mother bear and two cubs in his back yard. The bear in Easthampton was alone, and eventually climbed back down and ran off into the woods.

Remember, if you see a bear, or any wildlife around your neighborhood, leave the animal alone and give it plenty of room. For more information on bears in Massachusetts, and what to do if you encounter one, visit MassWildlife’s website.
