Man killed in Route 9 crash identified

Daron Reynolds was one of three passengers in Camry

CUMMINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The 31 year-old man killed in a head-on crash on Route 9 near the Cummington-Windsor town line has been identified.

According to Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, Daron Reynolds of Cheshire was one of three people inside a 2013 Toyota Camry, which was struck by a 2000 Acura Monday afternoon. Following the crash, he was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he died.

The driver of the Camry- a 27 year-old woman from Cheshire, as well as the second passenger in the car- a toddler girl, were both taken to Berkshire Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. They were later transferred to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

State police say that the driver of the Acura also received serious injuries, and was taken to Berkshire Medical Center before being transferred to Baystate Medical Center.

Initial investigation by state police found that the Acura had crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the Camry.

Troopers are still looking into what led up to the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
