WNEU holds panel discussion on presidential politics

Discussion touched on health care, immigration, polling and other topics

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western New England University played host to a political panel discussion on Friday. The panel put President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office under the microscope.

22News political analyst Tony Cignoli was among the panel of experts who spoke about a variety of current event topics ranging from President Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns to the nuclear crisis in North Korea.

People told 22News they view the start of the Trump administration as controversial. “I don’t think there has ever been a more interesting, contentious time in our political history,” Longmeadow resident Stu Creelman said. “Getting a chance to get a feel from some experts on the status of things was compelling to get here.”

The panel discussion also touched on domestic and foreign policy, health care, immigration, polling and media coverage. The program was organized by Glenmeadow, a non-profit retirement community based out of Longmeadow.
