Man killed in Amherst motorcycle accident identified

No other vehicles were involved in the accident

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – A man injured in a motorcycle accident in Amherst, earlier this week, has died.

Amherst Police Lt. William Menard told 22News 55-year-old Marc Osten of Amherst was riding his bike on Kellogg Avenue around 2:41 p.m. Monday when he left the roadway and hit a tree.

Osten was rushed to the hospital where he died due to the injuries he sustained in the accident, Lt. Menard said.

No word yet on why Osten’s bike left the road; no other vehicles were involved. Lt. Menard said Amherst Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are still investigating the cause of the crash.
