2 men wanted in Boston arrested in Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)- A man wanted for a shooting in Boston was arrested Friday morning at a Chicopee apartment building, along with another wanted man.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that their detectives, patrol, and narcotics officers assisted U.S. Marshals and Boston police in serving a “high risk warrant” at 597 Chicopee Street. Wilk said that they had received word Jonathan Whigham, 29, of Dorchester was at an apartment there.

Whigham was wanted on a Roxbury District Court warrant on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping, as well as firearms charges.

Wilk says that police were able to take Whigham into custody at the Chicopee Street building at around 9:00 A.M. While they were there, Wilk says police also found Tyquan Harris, 26. Harris was wanted out of Roxbury and Boston courts on warrants for threat to commit a crime, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a class B substance, and other chargers. He was also wanted on a warrant out of Richmond, Virginia.

Both Whigham and Harris were arraigned Friday in Chicopee District Court.
