439th Airlift Wing to see a change in leadership this June

Change of command to happen early June

Col. Scott Durham is scheduled to take command of Westover's 439th Airlift Wing early June.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Westover Air Reserve Base’s 439th Airlift Wing will have a change in leadership early June.

According to a release sent to 22News, the Air Force Reserve Command has selected Col. Scott Durham to replace Brig. Gen. Jay Jensen as commander of the wing.

Durham has most recently served as commander of the 512th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. He has accrued more than 5,000 flying hours in various military aircraft including the C-130, C-17, and C-5, which Westover has flown since 1987.

The colonel spent his first 13 of 27 years serving in the active-duty Air Force.

Jensen, who took command of the 439th Airlift Wing last March, will move on to serve at the Pentagon as the director of Air Force Reserve program and requirements.
