SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s Easter, the Boston Marathon, Patriots’ Day, and the start of April school vacation. All of that means the roads won’t be very open.
MassDOT is urging you to plan ahead and take public transportation when you can. As for the fuel to get to your destination, prices are holding steady in the Springfield area, where the average for a gallon of regular gas is $2.27.
Jed Grullon of Southwick told 22News that he’s leaving early on Sunday to avoid traffic along the Mass Pike. He said, “I always dread driving across the state. It’s almost two hours!”
If you are heading east for the Easter holiday, the MBTA is offering a one day pass with unlimited travel for Monday.
