NORTHFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Northfield resident is being investigated after their home was allegedly used for an underage drinking party Tuesday night.
According to the Northfield Police Facebook page, the department received a report around 11:02 p.m. Tuesday of a “disturbance” on Highland Avenue. When the officer arrived, they found about 30 youths having an underage drinking party.
Several people ran away after the officer identified himself, police said; but those who stayed were identified and then safely brought back to their homes. Police said the officer also discovered that the youths were allegedly students from the Frontier Regional High School in South Deerfield.
Police said one minor had to be taken by the Northfield EMS to the Franklin Medical Center, which they think was because of something the youth ingested at the party. All the parents were called on Wednesday, and informed of the incident.
The homeowner, who police said was at the party with the youths and allegedly allowed them to drink alcohol on his property, is now being investigated. Northfield Police said they have a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking and impaired driving.
