Woman killed after car hit tree in Deerfield identified

Local and state police are investigating the cause of the crash

DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Northwestern District Attorney’s office has identified the woman who was killed Thursday night, after the car she was driving hit a tree.

According to Northwestern DA’s Office Spokesperson Mary Carey, 19-year-old Sarah Bresnahan of Easton was killed in the crash, which happened on Sugarloaf Street, near Thayer Street, around 5:44 p.m. Thursday. Bresnahan’s car was the only one involved in the crash.

Carey said the cause of the crash is still being investigated by Deerfield Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Northwestern DA’s office and State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section.
