Woman killed after car hit tree in Deerfield

Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section is assisting with the investigation

DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police closed a section of Sugarloaf Street in Deerfield, Thursday night, after a deadly car accident near Thayer Street.

According to the Deerfield Police Facebook page, a woman was killed after a car hit a tree around 5:44 p.m. Thursday; no one else was in the car during the crash, and no other cars were involved. Sugarloaf Street would be closed for several hours while police cleared the area.

Deerfield Police, South Deerfield Firefighters and South Country EMS were all called to the crash site. Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s office, and the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section were also called to help with the investigation.
