Teen shot in Springfield, police looking for suspect

No injuries reported in incident on Keith St.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are investigating an afternoon shooting in the city’s Forest Park neighborhood.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that at around 2:25 Monday afternoon, a 17 year-old was shot once in the shoulder. The gunfire came from a car that was passing by on Keith Street.

Delaney said the young man was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment, but is expected to survive. He said the victim is not being very cooperative with police.

A shell casing was found in front of 29 Keith Street.

No arrests have been made, and Delaney said that at this point, police do not have a description of the vehicle.
