ARLINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) – State troopers were called to direct traffic on Route 2 outside of Boston Saturday, but it wasn’t because of the snowy conditions.
An injured swan was found on the roadway after trying to head westbound to find “greener pastures,” the Animal Rescue League of Boston said in a Twitter post.
The swan was taken to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University where it was treated. Massachusetts State Police said Monday the swan has been cleared to return to its natural habitat.
On Tuesday, the swan was released back into the wild with help of the Animal Rescue League. “Hopefully he stays out of trouble!!!,” they wrote on twitter.
