Colorado mother faces felony child abuse charges after leaving 2-year-old in car in subzero temperatures Friday night.

(KUSA) A 2-year-old boy was left in a car during subzero temperatures Friday night in Thornton, Colorado.

Thornton officers say they found the toddler in a snow-covered car Saturday afternoon, suffering from severe hypothermia and frost bite.

The toddler’s mother, Nicole Carmon, has been arrested for felony child abuse after police say she left the little boy in the car alone for at least seven hours.

Carmon claims she was in a car accident with her son the night before and left to get help, but so far Thornton’s investigation shows that’s not true.
