Holyoke Police: 1 shot during home invasion

Victim expected to survive, Holyoke police say

HOYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A man is recovering at Baystate Medical Center after being shot during a home invasion in Holyoke early Monday afternoon.

Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22News the invasion happened at a home at 116 Waldo Street before 12:45 P.M. He said that police received a call from a woman who said that men with guns had come to her house.

When police got there, they found a 35 year-old resident of the house suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, and Albert said he is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Lt. Albert also said that officers are investigating a safe they found outside of the apartment where the home invasion took place.
