Winter Weather and Freezing Rain Advisories are in effect

A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect until 5 a.m.

A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect until 5 am Sunday for  Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties.

* Hazard types…light freezing rain and freezing drizzle

* Accumulations…up to one-tenth inch of ice

* Timing…from this evening through 5 am Sunday

* Impacts…icy roads and sidewalks

* Temperatures…in the mid 20s to lower 30s

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.

 

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 am for Berkshire County.

* Hazard types…light freezing rain and freezing drizzle.

* Ice accumulation…mainly a coating to less than a tenth of an    inch.

* Timing…areas of light freezing rain or drizzle this evening changing to rain after midnight.

* Winds…south 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures…in the 20s to near 30 this evening…and then above freezing after midnight.

* Impacts…freezing rain can lead to slippery travel conditions and reduced visibilities.

Dangerous travel conditions are possible on untreated surfaces through this evening due to    freezing rain. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities…and use caution while driving.
