Free ice skating party held by State Senator in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Westfield State Senator Don Humason is hosting his annual Free Ice Skating Party at the Amelia Park Ice Arena in Westfield Saturday night.

What better way to spend a snowy Saturday, than free ice skating. It’s a Westfield tradition for many families.

Families, friends, and supporters were all invited. Staff at Amelia Park Ice Arena provided free cookies, skating and holiday cheer to residents.

If you didn’t own skates, no worries, the arena provided $3 skate rentals.

Senator Humason told 22News, his annual event is his way of saying thank you to constituents. “I thought i’m looking for a way to say thank you to those people who were so gracious to me during election time, thank you to the people that I represent and what better way than having them come out, have a nice night out with their family, grab some cookies, enjoy themselves, and skate!”

Senator Humason represents the 2nd Hampden and Hampshire District.

It covers the cities of Agawam, Easthampton, Holyoke, Westfield and 7 other Pioneer Valley communities.
