2 marijuana dispensaries approved in Amherst

The opening dates are unknown at this time

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The Amherst Planning Department told 22News on Friday that locations at 55 University Drive and 169 Meadow Street in Amherst have been approved by the zoning board to become marijuana dispensaries.

The application for the University Drive dispensary was submitted by Massachusetts Alternative Care, and the Meadow Street location was submitted by Cannabis Training Institute.

Officials with the planning department said they have met with two other groups interested in opening dispensaries, but neither have submitted applications as of yet.

The two approved locations have not submitted building permit applications, so their opening date is unknown at this time.
