Six people homeless after Wilbraham fire

The multi-family home was completely engulfed in flames

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Six people are without a home Thursday night after a fire tore through their Wilbraham home.

Wilbraham Fire Chief Francis Nothe told 22News the fire started around 9 o’clock at 2 Verge Street. The multi-family home was completely engulfed in flames. No one was hurt.

Ludlow and Springfield fire departments were also called to assist with putting the fire out. At 10:30 p.m., the fire was under control, but when 22News arrived around 11:00 p.m., the flames had reignited and could be seen coming from the roof of the house.

Chief Nothe said the American Red Cross is working to help those affected by the fire find temporary housing.
