AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Police closed down North Pleasant Street in Amherst, Wednesday night, between Governors Drive and Thatcher Way, due to a water main break on the UMass campus.
According to Amherst Police dispatch, the break was reported at around 3:00 P.M. at 671 North Pleasant Street on the campus.
Ed Blaguszewski, spokesperson for the university, told 22News that crews are working to fix the break. He said that the only building being affected by the break is the East Experiment Station.
Around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Blaguszewski said the water main break was repaired, and traffic and buses resumed normal service.
