The STCC community is heartbroken to learn of the death of beloved English Professor Richard Kasunick. Our condolences are with Richard’s family and many friends.

Richard served as a full-time faculty member in the School of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences for 29 years until his retirement in 2002. Richard was currently teaching English as an adjunct professor.

Richard shared his love of the written word with his students and with the campus community. As a member of the STCC Faculty Reading Group he participated in performances of poetry and other literary works. Richard also enjoyed acting in College theater productions.

For many years, Richard added his distinctive voice to our Commencement Ceremony, to thunderous applause, as he read aloud the names of students receiving their diplomas. He is in our prayers and we will miss him dearly.
