New restaurants to replace nightclubs in downtown Springfield

Mayor Sarno is pushing to add more family-friendly entertainment

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two new restaurants are set to open in downtown Springfield. Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno has pushed to revitalize the city’s entertainment district.

The Mayor’s office told 22News two new restaurants will be opening on Worthington Street. The restaurants will be replacing the Glo Ultra Lounge and Shadow Lounge.

Local residents said they’re ready for some new entertainment options in Springfield. Marc Greene of Springfield said, “I’m all for bigger and better things, and having things for the whole family, it can only do great things.”

Residents said they hope the openings are a sign more shops and restaurants will start to open in the city.
