Purse snatching suspect arrested in Suffield

Chad Read caught moments after police reviewed surveillance footage

SUFFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Police in Suffield, Connecticut were able to arrest a suspect in a purse snatching shortly after the crime took place.

According to a Suffield Police news release sent to 22News, Chad Read, 25, of Suffield, is accused of stealing the purse from the front of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Valero station at 801 Thompsonville Road.

Police say that the theft, which happened on Tuesday, was caught on surveillance video. They were able to quickly identify the suspect, and officers were able to find Read, as well as the stolen purse, moments later.

Read is charged with fourth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle. He was held on $2,500 bond pending his arraignment Wednesday in Enfield Superior Court.
