Palmer Public Schools closed after threatening message found

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – All the Palmer Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, December 1st after a threatening message was found on a school sign.

Palmer Police Lt. Christopher Burns told 22News a call came in to the department around 8:38 p.m. Wednesday of graffiti being found on the Palmer Public Schools sign stating, “Shooting 12/1”. Police are working with the school district to investigate the potential threat.

Parents have been notified by the school district that the schools would be closed, Lt. Burns said. Multiple viewers have emailed 22News reporting the threat, stating that there threats written on both sides of the sign, implying that there would be a shooting on Thursday.

The Palmer Public School District website has a scroll stating that all the schools will be closed, and classes are expected to be back in session on Friday, December 2nd.
