Springfield Police: Cocaine, gun seized during drug bust at McDonald’s parking lot

Officers seized a fully loaded Smith & Wesson handgun

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Narcotics officers arrested two men on November 25th who were allegedly involved in a drug deal in the McDonald’s parking lot on Main Street in the City’s South End.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News officers seized a fully loaded Smith & Wesson .380 semi-automatic handgun, $661 in cash and a large bag of cocaine after a search of the alleged drug dealer, 32-year-old Jose Colon of Springfield.

Officers also seized a bag of cocaine from the alleged buyer, 37-year-old Timothy Redfield of Springfield, Sgt. Delaney said.

Colon was charged with the following:

  • Distribution of Cocaine
  • Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Distribute
  • Carrying a Firearm
  • Possession of Ammo
  • Carrying a Firearm in the Commission of Felony

Redfield was charged with the following:

  • Possession of Cocaine
