Parents who buried infant child plead guilty

Brittani Hill and Timothy Young (WLNS)

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – The parents who were charged with burying the body of their infant son have pleaded guilty.

Brittani Hill and Timothy Young were in court this morning to enter their pleas. They both pleaded guilty to concealing the death of an individual and removing a dead body without Medical Examiner permission.

Concealing a death carries a maximum of five years in prison and removing a dead body without permission has a maximum sentence of one year in prison.

They admitted that they found the 9-month-old child dead in its crib and then burying the body in a nearby field.

The two will be sentenced on January 12.

Another factor has entered the situation: Brittani Hill is pregnant and is due to deliver her baby in three days. The judge today told her that he will work with the jail so she doesn’t have to have the baby in jail and she could be released on bond.

No bond was set for Young.

The baby boy was found last July, buried behind a home in Waterloo Township. Hill and Young were found living in Dayton, Ohio.

Since then, police have been able to determine that the child was 9 months old and could have been buried there since February. But there is lots of mystery surrounding this case. Investigators still don’t know how the baby died or who’s responsible.
