Pittsfield Police: Girl allegedly approached by suspicious man

Residents with information can remain anonymous

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police are searching for a man who allegedly approached a 17-year-old girl, Monday afternoon, on Elm Street in Pittsfield.

According to Pittsfield Police Lt. Gary Traversa, the girl reported being “accosted” by a man in the area between Ontario Street and Elmhurst Avenue, around 2:10 p.m. Monday. She was not injured.

The man was last seen running towards Putnam Avenue. Lt. Traversa described the suspect as a white man, in his late 20’s, medium build, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, and having slightly balding or crew cut style brown hair. He was also seen wearing a blue colored hooded zipper sweatshirt and tan colored pants.
