Cable failure led to power outage in Boston Road area

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – More than 300 Eversource Energy customers in the Boston Road lost power early Monday afternoon, due to an underground cable failure.

Eversource spokesperson Priscilla Ress told 22News that their crews were out working at Boston Road and Parker Street near the Olive Garden restaurant in order to fix the problem.

According to Eversource’s outage map, there were 345 customers without power as of 1:15 P.M.

About 40 minutes after the cable failure, power was restored, Ress said.
