CLINTON, Conn. (AP) — The Clinton Police Department is investigating reports of a series of motor vehicle burglaries — including the theft of a .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun.
Police said the burglaries occurred early in the morning on Saturday. They said 25 vehicles were burglarized in different locations around Clinton.
Three cars and the firearm were also stolen.
One car was later recovered after being involved in a crash in Hamden.
Police said the investigation led to discovery of photos of four suspects who used stolen credit cards from the victims in Clinton to make purchases in Hamden and Wallingford.
Investigators are looking to the public for help in identifying the individuals.
Police are also reminding residents to lock their cars, remove all valuables, and never leave their keys in their cars.
