Work resumes on MGM Springfield casino construction

The project is expected to wrap up in 2018

(WWLP) – Just a day after Thanksgiving, construction crews were back to work on the MGM resort casino project in Springfield’s South End.

22News saw workers constructing the building that will house the casino itself. There was also progress being made at the hotel site on Main Street.

Workers on lunch break told 22News they’re pleased to help build the $950-million project, right in their own backyards. They said they’re proud of the contribution they’re making.

The project is expected to wrap up in 2018.
