Springfield Police looking for suspected wallet thief

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are looking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who they say stole a woman’s wallet at the American International College library.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News a 24-year-old AIC student left her purse on a chair while she was on campus in the library on Sunday around 6:15 p.m..

Delaney said the student got up for a minute and when she returned to her desk her wallet was missing. The wallet contained her debit card.

The thief used the debit card in nearby stores, Delaney said.
