BRAINTREE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $403 million for the Saturday drawing. The cash option is an estimated $243.8 million.
Saturday’s jackpot is the game’s highest since a $487 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in New Hampshire on July 30th.
Saturday night’s drawing will be the 20th since the Powerball jackpot was last hit on September 17th. One winning ticket sold in Georgia won a $246.8 million prize in that drawing.
Earlier this year, the Powerball jackpot reached a world-record setting $1.586 billion for the January 13th drawing. Tickets sold in California, Florida and Tennessee each won a share of that jackpot.
Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be played in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. at Massachusetts Lottery retailers across the state.
